Language Arts:
Students read and discussed different poems. Then, students were asked to write and type a disability and holocaust poem. I also shared a letter that I had received from a veteran who lives in Winfield and happened to read a letter I had written to the editor of the Eagle. He was one of the liberators of a camp in Germany, and has memories he would like to share with our students. I can't wait to arrange a meeting.

Social Studies:
Students read lesson 9-1 after completing their maps from yesterday on South America.
DOG: Name the large river and mountain range in South America.
