Language Arts:
Block 1-2: Students watched the two Living Voices presentations. I was very impressed by the performances and the students behavior!
Block 9-10: Students discussed the morning's performances, and then we talked about how we could make our own narratives for their History Day Project.
Social Studies:
My pre-service teacher showed all classes a powerpoint presentation that he made for our Mesopotamia Unit. He also included many examples of ancient artwork, and Map projections. The students seemed to be very engaged in the discussion.
DOG: What early civilization gave us the 22 symbol alphabet that was based on a "sound" system?
FRIDAY: There will be a substitute. There will be another performance in the auditorium for students to watch during first and part of second hours. My Social Studies classes will be taking notes on Chapter 12, Lesson 4. These notes will be used for an open-note quiz on Monday. My Language Arts classes will be writing Spit Nolan's Obituary. He was the main character in our Junior Great Book story this week.
