Language Arts:
Students were given time to research their disability for their oral presentation. These are to be presented in the first person, as if they are suffering from their chosen disability. Then students were given time to read fictional accounts of a disabled person, and reflect on these in their journals.
Social Studies:
We brainstormed and discussed the reasons people move from one place to another. Then we read about why people have moved throughout history, and matched these reasons with actual times in history. We also learned about the three components of culture, and how we often are seeing more cultural blending than purity in modern times.
DOG: Create a question for the maps on pages 452-453. Then you will try to stump your classmates with your question.
